Graffiti artist Vandal is everywhere. One look at his Instagram and you can see his colorful, drippy trademark mesh well with all mediums from spray paint to glass jars to stickers to clothing to his popular coloring books. He also produces some great shows promoting local art and music. Needless to say we’re fans of what he’s doing. We asked him a few questions below.
Vandal’s FAVORITE PLACE TO…
MAKE ART: Anywhere I can do it freely and not harassed. I got to paint a mural in a closed down warehouse last month and that was fun because it was a chance to make art outside of my studio.
SEE ART: On the East Side and Down Town. But mostly at the shows I produce and promote booking other artists to show their work.
HEAR ART: Hahaha… Again, at our shows. We are called M.A.S.S. which stands for Maintaining Artists Self Sufficiency. We book bands for out events too.
FEEL ART: All around me.
INSPIRE ART: Roaming the streets… Observations from these experiences. From my personal ideas and thoughts manipulated into characters, symbols, and color.
