Parallels: We Are More Alike Than We Are Different

Parallels is a community created multimedia art exhibit centering on the theme of what we have in common between one another. Participants include GirlForward girls, mentors, tutors, staff as well as community artists including: Chetna MehtaDave McClintonSeeds then Roots, Abbi Havens, and more!

Slam Poet and Speaker:

Kelenne Blake Fallon – a Trinidad and Tobago born world citizen and renaissance woman. Mostly, she is a writer, artist and health advocate.

Tunes by:

DJ Rella – is a GirlForward staff member by day and a curator of international music by night, culling songs from the deepest corners of the world and the web to showcase for your listening pleasure.

Kiko Villamizar – Born in Miami to Colombian parents was taken to Colombia as a child and raised on a coffee farm where he learned Colombian folk music through oral tradition with his family. He studied jazz in Miami, then began traveling, collecting melodies and rhythms that make for a genuine world class fusion of Colombian rhythms.
