“A piece of furniture doesn’t have to be solely functional, it can be beautiful, it can create conversation, comfort, relationships.”

Austin Evers is the founder of Woodwork at 17th, his space “to make furniture, objects, and spaces to bring together.” We featured some of Austin’s creations in Issue 03 after seeing them in person during the West Austin studio tours.

Austin discovered his passion for woodworking while living in Guam. After moving to Texas, he became involved with Habitat for Humanity doing construction and passing on his knowledge to volunteers. As he continued to build homes, he narrowed his focus to include more fine woodworking.

Austin was featured in our double issue 03 & 04. To get the full experience of Austin’s craftsmanship, contact him through his website.
