Issue 17 contributor Sean Thornton is a fan of tradition. He does not stray away from his linear process when painting.
What is your artistic process like?
My father was a working artist and consequently I learned a very traditional process for image making: idea, sketch, possibly several, charcoal realization of the sketch on canvass or board, then paint.

Obviously there are a lot of changes along the way, but the point is that this process is linear in nature, meaning there is an image that you wish to achieve rather than discover.
