About ART Ahead
Our ART Ahead Accelerator provides resources and opportunities to a select group of creators to further their creative careers. For each cycle, we will choose between 4-6 emerging creators in Austin and provide them with a stable, community-driven support system that focuses on collaboration and personal growth.
Selected artists will receive:
- A feature in Almost Real Things print magazine, online and social media
- Educational guides & resources
- Professional photography of their work and themselves
- Educational workshops
- 1-on-1 assistance from the ART team
- Opportunity to show and sell work at our ART: Live! Celebration on Saturday, May 21, 2022
The ART Ahead program is an extension of our current magazine and coincides with the run of a full issue. The current cycle will begin in April and last until the end of June. The deadline is March 31st.
This initial launch is in partnership with Mighty Swell for their Give-Back Program. Mighty Swell is donating $1 from every case sold during April-June to help us fund ART Ahead.
Eligibility
This call is open for emerging creators living in the Austin area who are dedicated to furthering their artistic development. Any medium and experience level is accepted including music, dance, performance, film and writing. We encourage BIPOC artists and LGBTQ+ artists to apply.
Requirements
- Must live in Austin area
- Must be available all day on May 21, 2022
- Currently practicing your craft with work made within the last year
- Must be available to travel and meet at our ART HQ in the St. Elmo area
