My newest work combines portraiture with projections from classic Hollywood films.
I started using projections because I felt traditional portraits weren’t conveying the mystery and complexity that I was seeking, the full scope of a subject.
I obfuscate the figure with shadows and light, and project different cultural influences onto it, trying to find through the juxtapositions and chance encounters, some more complex and poetic portraiture.
